A hijacking that saw a domestic Egyptian flight diverted to Cyprus has ended with all the hostages released and the hijacker surrendering.


The Airbus 320 had been enroute from Alexandria to Cairo with 55 people on board.

Some media reports claimed the hijacker named as Seif Eldin Mustafa wanted to talk to his estranged wife who lives in Cyprus while others suggested he was seeking the release of female prisoners held in Egypt.
