From late July to September 6, 2018, floods in the Mekong and Bassac rivers continue to recede. However, the affected provinces have increased to 9 provinces: Stung Treng, Kratie, Tbong Khmum, Kampong Cham, Kandal, Prey Veng, Takeo, Kampong Chhnang and Phnom Penh, bringing the total number of victims to more than 100,000 with 37 deaths. Over 40,000 hectares of rice paddies flooded. There are also more than 1,200 kilometers of floodplains. Keo Vy, spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management said.
