Rates of HIV transmission amongst Indigenous Australians continue to rise, with new figures showing the rate of HIV notification among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is now more than double the non-Indigenous rate.

Rates of HIV transmission amongst Indigenous Australians continue to rise, with new figures showing the rate of HIV notification among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is now more than double the non-Indigenous rate.


The figure comes on World Aids Day, with federal and state governments around the country claiming to be on track to reach the target of zero HIV transmissions by 2020.
