Eight people are dead and at least 10 injured in a shooting rampage near a shopping centre in the southern German city of Munich.

Police say they have found a body of a man who killed himself and they assume he was the only shooter.

Earlier they described the incident in the country's third biggest city as a possible terrorist attack, with reports that there were up to three gunmen armed with rifles.

Central Munich has been sealed off and transport in the central city suspended.

This eyewitness described the scene.
