2019 Korean Performance Contest was held at the Westin Hotel located in Martin Place, Sydney, on September 20 to mark the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Korean Education Centre in Sydney.
The Korean Education Centre in Sydney hosted this event and K-pop combined with students' Korean traditional performance.
Denistone East Public School and Strathfield Girls High School won first place in the primary and secondary schools respectively, at the performance categories.
The competition began in 2007 with a ‘Korean Language Presentation Contest’ for non-Korean students who were learning Korean at primary, secondary schools and universities. Since 2014, it has developed into a Korean Performance Contest for all students learning Korean in Australia and it has now been held in three categories: performance, artwork and video clip.

"We hope that learning Korean at schools will not only provide simple communication but also learn about Korean culture and history and that it will be an opportunity to understand Korea better”
