3000 firefighters ready to battle blazes as NSW fire danger 'rapidly increases'

NSW Rural Fire Service says fires in the north of the state are spreading as winds pick up strength.

Bushfires in northern NSW have begun to spread as winds intensify in line with projections of catastrophic fire danger. 

More than 3000 firefighters and 60 aircraft are ready to fight the blazes as the NSW Rural Fire Service warned that fire danger was "rapidly increasing".
