Australian Baseball League's newest team, Geelong-Korea took down the Perth Heat 7-1 at Geelong Baseball Centre and claimed first win.

Australian Baseball League's newest team, Geelong-Korea took down the Perth Heat 7-1 at Geelong Baseball Centre and claimed first win.

In a rain effected encounter, Chicago Cubs prospect Kwang-Min Kwon blasted Geelong-Korea's first ever home run in their short history, opening the scoring in the bottom of the second with a two-run blast to right-centre field. In a stellar night for GKs offence, Kwon finished with three hits and three RBI.

GK kept the scoring going later in the second, as Seung-Gu Han added to the lead with a solo homer of his own.

Rain hit the Geelong Baseball Centre in the bottom of the seventh, and play was unable to continue.

Jin-Yong Jang, the former KBO pitcher tossed six strong innings against a Heat offence that scored 32 runs in their first four games.
