Black Hawks rescue people trapped in Victorian town cut off by bushfires

Military Black Hawks have arrived in the Victorian coastal town of Mallacoota cut off by bushfires, while navy boats are on their way.

Evacuations have begun in the Victorian coastal town of Mallacoota, where 4,000 people remain trapped after the area was ravaged by fire earlier this week.

Military Black Hawk helicopters carried elderly and sick people out of the town late Wednesday and navy boats are set to join the rescue mission on Thursday.
