MLB experienced reliever Byung-hyun Kim, who joined the Melbourne Aces, successfully completed his debut game in the first all-Victorian Brut Australian Baseball League clash at Melbourne Ballpark on Thursday night.

Byung-hyun Kim showed off his good pitching with two strikeouts in one inning.

Although Melbourne Aces lost to Geelong Korea 1-3, Kim displayed a perfect pitching to complete his inning with 12 pitches.

When Kim appeared as a reliever for the Melbourne Aces in the top of the sixth inning, enthusiastic applause came from Korean fans who came to see the game.

Kim told SBS Korean that the level of the Australian baseball league seems to be higher than expected.

“I ask for more attention so that Korean fans and children in Australia can enjoy baseball.”

Kim is best known for his years with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Boston Red Sox in MLB. He got a World Series ring when he played for Boston Red Sox in 2004 and played in the Major League until 2010.

And Kim has also pitched in Japan and in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). In 2014, he was traded to the Kia Tigers in South Korea.
