China 'ready to work with Australia', premier tells Scott Morrison

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has reached out to Prime Minister Scott Morrison at their bilateral meeting, reconfirming the strong ties between the two countries.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang Premier Li has called for tighter co-operation with Australia in the face of downward economic pressure and a "complex international situation".

Despite various tensions between the two nations, Premier Li said they shared "extensive common interests" in economic and trade issues.
