Coronavirus restrictions re-imposed in Victoria amid rise in community transmission

Victoria has re-impose some coronavirus restrictions after the state recorded 25 new coronavirus cases overnight.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said Saturday that the new case numbers were the highest they had been in two months, with 25 new cases recorded overnight.

As a result, he announced that the state will re-impose coronavirus restrictions, including limiting gatherings in homes to five people, to come into effect from midnight on Sunday.

Outdoor gatherings will be reduced from 20 to 10.
