People across much of eastern Australia will get a little extra sleep as the clocks are turned back this weekend, ending daylight saving.

Those in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT will see clocks return to the same time zone as Queensland. Clocks go back at 3am on Sunday.

At that time the timekeepers will turn back the clock by an hour, so it would be 2am.

On Sunday, the sunrise will be an hour earlier than the day before, ensuring there will be more daylight in the morning.
