A Victorian woman, who claimed to be a nurse and administered what she said was cosmetic injections to a patient, has been fined more than $15,000.
Brittany Fairthorne was convicted in Frankston Magistrates Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to two counts of pretending to be a registered nurse and two counts of providing false information to investigators.
She was fined $15,000 and ordered to pay $13,496 in costs.
The charges were laid by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency after an investigation.
Fairthorne claimed she was a registered nurse and injected a patient with "substances which purported to be cosmetic injectables".
"Claiming to be a registered health practitioner when you are not puts vulnerable people at serious risk," agency CEO Martin Fletcher said in a statement.
"We will continue to take action against these individuals to support the profession and safeguard the public."
More than 50 cases of people pretending to be a health practitioner have been prosecuted by the watchdog since 2014.
