1. Sydney FC have turned the stats on their head
The Sky Blues have already scored almost half as many goals as they did in the whole of last season.
Their 4-1 win over Perth Glory took their tally to 17, at an average of 2.83 per game. Last season they finished with 36 goals, at an average of 1.33.
Sydney have four players among the competition's top 10 goal-scorers - Alex Brosque and Milos Ninkovic, with four apiece, and Bobo and Filip Holosko, each with three.
Last season, Sydney had only one player finish among the top 10 - Holosko, with 10.
2. 'Popa' loves his stats
Well, maybe not this one, but Western Sydney Wanderers coach Tony Popovic showed he knows his stats in an interview after his side's 3-0 loss to Melbourne Victory, in which they were denied what appeared a clear penalty.
3. Central Coast have set a record they didn't want
Their 2-0 loss to Wellington Phoenix was the 35th game in a row in which the Mariners failed to keep a clean sheet.
The previous worst run in either the A-League or the old National Soccer League was set at 34 by Heidelberg United in the 1980s.
Central Coast's run stretches right back through last season and includes the last two games of their 2014-2015 campaign.
The last time they kept the opposition scoreless was April 11, 2015, when they beat the Wanderers 1-0 at Central Coast Stadium.
4. The alarm bells are ringing for Newcastle
It's not too early to say it.
When you're a club like the Jets, who haven't made the finals since season 2009-2010, you need something to go on with to keep the confidence levels up, but after opening the season with a draw, a win and another draw they have recorded three straight losses.
5. Bruno isn't barren without Mooy
There was a school of thought that Melbourne City striker Bruno Fornaroli couldn't hope to score as many goals this season as he did last year because he would no longer have assist-king Aaron Mooy laying on plenty of great chances for him.
Well, that suggestion has been blown away already.
Fornaroli's double in the 2-1 win over Newcastle took him to six goals from as many games this season, to go with his 25 from 29 last season.
