Geelong-Korea took down Melbourne Aces 3-1 in the Brut Australian Baseball League clash at Melbourne Ballpark on Thursday night.

Geelong-Korea starter Jin-Yong Jang was a major catalyst in keeping the in-form Aces batting lineup to one run. In his seven innings he recorded eight strikeouts.

GK opened proceedings with a solo home run to right-field courtesy of Chicago Cubs prospect Kwang-Min Kwon.

The game then reached a lull with neither side impacting the score, before being reignited with an RBI single by Garrison Schwartz, bringing in Luke Hughes in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Geelong-Korea responded at the top of the sixth, with another highlight for the night when Hwi-Yeon Park hit a two RBI single.  - With ABL
