Geelong Korea defeated Sydney Blue Sox with a 4-2 score in the opening second game of The ABL 2019/20 season.

Geelong Korea players was at a different level compared with last season. They are stable to get a solid defence, added by well-organised attacks and herald a gust of wind this season.

Il Heo’s two-run double allowed Seung-min Go and Byeong-woo Jeon to score in the first.

Sydney immediately followed up in the top of the fifth but Geelong Korea widened the score gap again to 3-1 with a timely hit by Dae-ryuk Kim.

Joo-hyun Kim tripled on a fly ball in the sixth, growing Geelong Korea’s lead to 4-1 as Heo scored.

The Sydney Blue Sox’s Gift Ngoepe had a solo home run in the top of the ninth, but ultimately it was not enough as Geelong Korea finished the job.
