Melbourne Korean War Memorial project started in earnest with establishment of site-based facilities at the Quarry Park in the City of Maribyrnong.
Mr Sunghyo Kim, Consul-General in Melbourne, had a ceremony for the Melbourne Korean War Memorial at the construction site with the members of the project control group on 1st November. It is aiming for the completion of project by April 2019.
At the ceremony, the Melbourne Korean War Memorial Committee delivered a plaque of gratitude to the Cum Lam, the mayor of Maribyrnong.
The Korean War Memorial in Melbourne will be Australia's fourth such memorial following ones in Canberra(2000), Sydney(2009) and Gold Coast(2011).
