House prices fell last week as new listings jumped 6.6 per cent, but prices are still more than ten per cent higher in the year to date.

Capital city housing prices fell 0.1 per cent last week, but they're still up 10.6 per cent from one year ago.

The number of new listings jumped 6.6 per cent in November, compared to the prior corresponding period, property market analytics firm CoreLogic said on Monday.

Melbourne home prices experienced the biggest growth in the week ending January 8, rising 0.2 per cent to be 13.6 per cent higher on a year earlier.
