Jacinda Ardern stays cool as strong 5.8 magnitude quake hits during live interview

Seismologists have recorded a magnitude 5.8 earthquake around 100km north of New Zealand's capital Wellington.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has continued with a live interview on television during a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Wellington.

The strong Monday morning earthquake was centred 30km north west of Levin, a town around an hour's drive north of the New Zealand capital.
