The South Korean court has rejected a request from prosecutors to arrest Lee Jae-Yong, the head of Samsung group, who is allegedly involved in a national corruption scandal.

Samsung is accused of having contributed about 43 billion Korean won in bribes. The Seoul Central District Court said that there was not enough reason to detain Samsung heir at this stage.

The announcement was made around 5am (Local time) today and he returned his office after a long night. He had been waiting for the court’s decision at a detention centre in South Korea around 15 hours.
