The Korean Embassy in Australia cautions Korean in Australia, saying the foreign exchange transaction fraud has increased recently.

Amid the recent fraud against Koreans in China, the Korean Embassy in Australia posted a Facebook message cautioning Koreans in Australia not to suffer similar damage.

The fraudster who posted an advertisement on the local website saying he wants to change the Korean won into local Chinese currency and hopes to trade at a better rate than the bank exchange rate.

The fraudster is known to have sent money in advance to the victim’s account in Korea. After that, victims who received the Korean money in advance transfer their money to the Chinese account of fraudster without fear. But, the money sent by the fraudster has been suspended and this kind of victim is continuing.

The Korean Embassy in Australia says “If money involved in various financial frauds such as voice phishing and money laundering, it can be suspended and the fraudsters use the kind of fraud method”
