A major search is under way for a Korean woman missing in far north Queensland for almost a week.

Joohee Han, 25, was last seen at a supermarket in Tully, south of Cairns, last Thursday and the following day she told a friend she was going on a bushwalk at nearby Mount Tyson.

On Thursday, authorities will spend a second day searching for her after a friend raised the alarm about her disappearance.

Police and 15 SES crews will be part of the land search in the Mount Tyson area along with a helicopter.
