A Korean backpacker has been found a week after she went missing while bushwalking in far north Queensland with a helicopter set to winch her to safety.

Joohee Han, 25, was last seen at a supermarket in Tully, south of Cairns, last Thursday and the following day she told a friend she was going on a bushwalk at nearby Mount Tyson.

Police confirmed Ms Han had been found safe in bushland on Thursday following a mass search of the area.
