Kristina Keneally calls for paid leave for parents of stillborn babies

Labor senator Kristina Keneally is pushing for families impacted by stillbirth to be entitled to the same paid parental leave as other parents. 

Tuesday marks International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, when millions of parents around the world commemorate losses experienced through miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death.

Figures released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare last year found about seven in every 1,000 births in Australia will be a stillbirth.
