A man has drowned at a notoriously treacherous NSW beach just days after three others died at the same stretch of surf.

Emergency services were called to Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour, after midday on Friday following reports a man was missing in the water.

A Swiss national in his 60s was pulled unconscious from the water by witnesses but was unable to be revived, NSW Police said in a statement.

The body of Junaid Mohammed, 28, was found on Thursday after he disappeared in rough surf at the same beach earlier in the week.

He was one of three men who entered the water on Monday evening to save three teenagers. None of the men emerged alive.

Ghouseuddin Mohammed, 45, and Syed Rahath, 35, died at the scene.

The teenagers - girls aged 13 and 17 and a 15-year-old boy - managed to survive.

It's understood the group was visiting the popular tourist town from Sydney's west.
