The federal Treasurer Scott Morrison has released the mid-year budget preview saying the governement's plan to get the budget to balance remains on track.
Mr Morrison says the budget is projected to return to balance in 2021, even though the budget bottom line is expected to deteriorate in the interim.
The review shows that there was a tiny improvement in this financial year's deficit to $36.5 billion since the May budget.
The mid year economic fiscal outlook, shows that over the next three years deficits will increase by an accumulative $10.9 billion.
