NAIDOC Week(8-15 July) celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

This year's theme is "Because of her we can", which acknowledges the significant roles women play in the community at a local, state, and national level.

Artist and designer Bibi Barba has told NITV, women have played vital roles in the community for centuries.

"Here we are today, generations later, and the spirit of the women's strength as nuturers to country and the land, and to foster an incredible, incredible, future... I mean this is what it is. You can't get any better than this."
