Nine Australian unis in top 200 rankings

Nine Australian universities have been ranked in the world's top 200 universities, with the University of Melbourne retaining its ranking as Australia's best.

The University of Melbourne remains Australia's best-ranked higher education institution according to the latest Times Higher Education world university rankings.

Melbourne retained spot No.32 in the rankings, with the ANU dropping one place to No.49, and University of Sydney improving two places to No.59.

The University of Queensland (69), Monash University (84), University of New South Wales (96), Uni of WA (134), Uni of Adelaide (135) and UTS (196) followed in the rankings.

Oxford and Cambridge universities retained their overall positions of one and two respectively in the 2019 rankings.
