No Australians injured in Turkey coup: Bishop

Australia says it's monitoring the situation in Turkey .. but says its top priority remains the safety of Australian citizens.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says she's spoken with Ambassador James Larsen in Turkey to assess what's happening in the highly fluid situation.

Ms Bishop says travel advice for Turkey has been updated to reflect the unfolding developments.

Visitors to the country are urged to exercise a high degree of caution.
