NSW braces for severe heatwave conditions

A major fire north-west of Sydney has been downgraded after an emergency was declared on the weekend amid fears a number of homes and buildings have been lost.

The Gospers Mountain fire was at 'watch and act' level early Monday after firefighters worked overnight to contain the blaze around Mt Wilson, Mt Tomah and Berambing.
