NSW records new COVID-19 case after hotel quarantine worker tests positive

The new infection, announced by Health Minister Brad Hazzard on Thursday, ends the state's streak of no locally acquired coronavirus cases.

NSW has recorded its first locally-acquired coronavirus case in more than 20 days.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard on Thursday confirmed that a woman who worked at two Sydney hotels, including a police quarantine hotel, had tested positive.

"We've always said this worldwide pandemic was going to be a rollercoaster for a while," Mr Hazzard told Channel 7's Sunrise program.
