Police speak to Porsche driver after four officers die on Melbourne freeway

A Porsche driver who had just been pulled over fled the scene after a truck ploughed into four police officers, killing them all.

A truck was travelling at 100 kilometres per hour in a Melbourne freeway emergency lane when it hit and killed four police officers nabbing a speeding driver who tested positive to drugs.

Flags will fly at half-mast across Victoria on Thursday in honour of the officers who died when the truck ploughed into them as they stood on the Eastern Freeway at Kew on Wednesday.
