Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she's relieved the Liberal party managed to narrowly retain two of its key NSW seats.

Despite double-digit swings in Saturday's by-elections, the Liberals scraped through to claim victory in Manly and North Shore, while Labor increased its margin in Gosford.

"What I take away from it is that the community has given us their trust but they expect us to listen to their concerns," Ms Berejiklian told reporters in Mosman on Sunday.
