Public servants at Medicare, Centrelink and Child Support are beginning two weeks of rolling stoppages today as part of a long running industrial dispute.

The Community and Public Sector Union says the mainly part-time workers want to retain what it calls family-friendly policies so they have some certainty about their working hours.

The workers will walk off the job at times of high demand over the next fortnight.
