Queensland drivers can add emoji to their plates

Queensland drivers can add emojis to their personalised plates from March 1.

Five of the emoji, cartoon faces familiar to smartphone users are available now, including "laugh out loud", "wink", "sunglasses", "heart" and "smile"

The state government-owned company Personalised Plates Queensland will offer the service, which will cost $475 for new orders and $165 for redesigns.

RACQ Spokeswoman Dr Rebecca Michael said: “You can support your favourite team or your favourite town with a symbol on your number plate and using an emoji is no different,” Seven Network reported.
