Australian shoppers are set to splash out in the run up to Christmas, with a record $50 billion in retail sales expected nationally across the festive season.
The National Retail Association says it's a five per cent jump on last year's figures and is covers both bricks-and-mortar and online store sales.
"They're spending on nostalgic items such as Mickey and Minnie's 90th anniversary, we know they're looking for personalisation and leather emboss goods, tech is definitely in this year, we know that drones are selling out the door and also anything to do with fitness," chief executive Dominique Lamb told reporters on Thursday.
