The extension, announced on Saturday night at the Roar's awards dinner, means Aloisi will remain coach until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Aloisi has taken Brisbane to the A-League semi-finals twice in his two seasons at the club but will be busy regenerating his squad after some key departures, in particular in the attacking third.

Roar's inaugural Hall of Fame inductee Thomas Broich will leave the club after seven stellar seasons that included three A-League titles and two Johnny Warren Medals.

A-League Golden Boot Jamie Maclaren has confirmed he will leave Suncorp Stadium and chase a contract abroad, while departing attacker Brandon Borrello has been heavily linked with a move to German second-division side Kaiserslautern.

The futures of Greek defender Avraam Papadopoulos and Spaniard Arana remain up in the air, with Danish midfielder Thomas Kristensen the only foreigner certain to return for another season.
