Senegal and Japan fans help clean up stadiums following World Cup games

Fans of Senegal and Japan have been praised for cleaning up the stadiums following their teams' opening matches at the FIFA World Cup.

Fans of both Senegal and Japan would've been expected to celebrate their nations' wins at the 2018 FIFA World Cup by pouring out onto the streets in celebration.

But some fans, however, decided to clear rubbish from the stands at the stadiums.

Videos and photos began surfacing on social media showing fans clearing rubbish from the stadium aisles and under seats.
"Senegal achieved a historic triumph," Argentinian media outlet TyC Sports tweeted.

"But their fans instead of celebrating minutes after the game are responsible for cleaning their sector before leaving #Respect."

People on Twitter also praised their efforts.
"This is my favourite moment of the World Cup so far; Japan fans picking up litter after their victory vs Columbia," one user Tweeted.

"The lessons in life we can take from the game. Why I support Japan."

Senegal took full advantage of their opponents' errors to beat Poland 2-1 in their opening Group H match at Spartak Stadium in Moscow.

The result leaves the African nation, famous winners over defending champions France in the opening match of their last World Cup appearance in 2002, level with Japan who beat Colombia 2-1 at Mordovia Arena.
