Singer R. Kelly to remain behind bars after being denied bail over sex abuse charges

A federal judge in New York has denied a bid for bail in R. Kelly's sexual abuse case, as the R&B singer remains behind bars in Chicago.

R&B singer R. Kelly has been denied bail in his sex abuse case by a federal judge in New York City.

Kelly did not attend the hearing on Wednesday on a defence motion asking for his release on bond.

US District Judge Ann Donnelly agreed with prosecutors that Kelly was a flight risk and a potential threat to witnesses.
