In his debut season with Suwon Bluewings, Taggart scored 20 goals in his 33 appearances in K League 1.

He won the award ahead of Ulsan Hyundai's Junior Negao, who scored 19 goals in 35 games and Daegu FC's Cesinha, who netted 15 in 35 appearances.

Taggart joined Suwon from Brisbane Roar in February and hit the ground running, scoring on his K League debut against Ulsan Hyundai and converting in 15 games - including scoring a hat-trick and three braces.
