The United Nations Security Council has adopted a resolution endorsing a ceasefire in the Syrian civil war brokered by Russia and Turkey.
The resolution also calls for rapid access for humanitarian aid to be delivered across the country.
It helps to pave the way for talks in Kazakhstan between the Syrian government and the opposition.
Russia's Ambassador to the U-N, Vitaly Chrukin, says he is hopeful of reaching a political solution in Syria in 2017.
Britain's U-N representative Peter Wilson says it's crucial that all efforts are made to sustain the ceasefire.
