Twin strikes organised for Melbourne bus drivers have been cancelled by the Transport Workers Union due to "ongoing mediation".

Bus drivers were planning to walk off the job at Oakleigh on Thursday and Wyndham and Sunshine on Friday in their fight for a four per cent pay rise.

The cancellations come after a series of strikes against operating company CDC Victoria earlier in the month.

In a statement on Wednesday the bus company said the union had advised it would not hold strikes while mediation with the Fair Work Commission was ongoing.

CDC Victoria operates 17 per cent of the state's bus services.
