The footage taken in Marrickville around 3pm on 30 March and uploaded to social media shows a woman yelling racist remarks at two other women, “Asian dogs” who “brought corona here”.

The footage was captured by young girl, who was walking through Marrickville in Sydney’s inner-west with her sister when the attack unfolded.

She said “As you know, hate crimes against Asians have increased and I’ve seen disgusting videos from all around the world. I never thought I’d be in one. This is what racism and xenophobia can do.”

“They threatened us with a knife and the girl in the grey tried to attack my sister and ended up spitting in her face.”

NSW Police have confirmed they are investigating it.

“Police are now searching for a woman who may be able to assist with inquiries,” a statement said.
