A Sydney science teacher is in the running for a prestigious international teaching award.
Ken Silburn is the head science teacher at Casula High School in western Sydney.
He was nominated for the London-based Varkey Foundation's Global Teacher Prize.
Now, out of 20,000 candidates worldwide, Mr Silburn has been selected in the top 10.
He is one of a select group of Australian teachers pushing unique hands-on approaches to learning.
