The National Community Attitudes towards Violence Against Women Survey found a disturbing number of young people blame women for being sexually assaulted and having their nude images shared without consent.

A new report has found young Australians are confused about consent and control in relationships.

The latest survey conducted by the National Research Organisation for Women's Safety found almost a third of men aged 16-to-24  believe many women, who say they’ve been raped, had instead led the man on and then had regrets.

In the case of nude photos being shared without consent, more than a quarter of respondents blamed the women for sending the image, instead of her partner for sharing it.

Lead researcher from R-M-I-T University Anastasia Powell says the survey's findings are particularly concerning.
