Mr Gangsuk Suh, Director-General of KOTRA Sydney presents about the recent trading trend between Korea and Australia where Korea gained a record 700 million surpluses.


The Inaugural Korea - Western Australia Business Forum 2018 provided an opportunity to bring together representatives from the WA and Korean business communities to discuss the latest trade and investment opportunities.

The forum presented by the Korea Trade Commission (KOTRA), Invest Korea and the Australia Korea Business Council of WA was well-received by WA businesses interested in learning more about Korea or are currently active in Korea and looking at new investment opportunities, export opportunities, opportunities to engage with critical Korean stakeholders and hearing from successful WA - Korea business leaders.

Mr Gangsuk Suh, Director-General of KOTRA Sydney joined SBS Korean program to explain about the forum as well as the current trade trend between Korea and Australia.

“Korea for the first time recorded 700 million surpluses last year trade between Korea and Australia and thanks to Flng facilities in WA,” Mr Suh said.

He also mentioned that over 1 tons of corns growing near Ord River, WA are exported to Korea as an ingredient of snacks.

 “There are still many potential business areas and unknown markets in Australia, and we will endeavor to find and connect them to business in Korea,” Mr Suh said.
