[Australia SPECTRUM] The first Chinese Australian female MP faces a first uphill batlle

The Labor ramps up its pressure on Liberal's first every Chinese Australian female MP in Caberra, Gladys Liu, to explain her roles in groups with ties to the Chinese Communist Party, after she admitted last week to a membership she had previously denied.


Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese said Ms Liu should give a statement to Parliament to explain her links to the associations without the “outrageous” government claims that the debate over her past was about race.

Meanwhile, key frontbenchers of the Liberal Party have vehemently advocated Ms Lis saying "she has done enough to clear her name."
