According to the IBIS World, size of Australia’s vitamin and supplement manufacturing industry was 620 million Australian dollars in last year and 1.9 per cent increased compare to last 5 years


According to the IBIS World, size of Australia’s vitamin and supplement manufacturing industry was 620 million Australian dollars in last year and 1.9 per cent increased compare to last 5 years.

63 per cent of total supplement sales comes from general health product, such as, vitamin and probiotics, and 21 per cent comes from sports nutrition product, 11 per cent from diet product, and 4 per cent from other health foods.

One of two supplements in Australia is made in top 3 companies, Swisse Wellness, Blackmores, and Nature’s care.

And two companies, Swisse and Nature’s care owned by Chinese based company. 86 per cent of Swisse Wellness’s stocks are owned by H&H company, and two Chinese investment company bought Nature’s care this year.

Also, many of raw materials for making supplement products are imported from outside of Australia. These show that how Australia’s vitamin and supplement manufacturing industry is globalized compare to other industries in Australia.
