ABC reports about Australian race caller Royce Newton, the first English race caller in Korea.


Royce Newton has been the voice of race caller for the past seven years around Western Australia area.

The 31-year-old engineer from Kalgoorlie now has moved into Korea to pursue his dream as a full-time race caller.

His first race call in Korea is later this month, and it will be telecast on racing stations throughout Europe, the United States and back home to Australia.

He told ABC that calling Korean horses and jockeys are challenging due to unfamiliar pronunciation.
