Australia's best and brightest, from Hollywood stars to prominent business leaders, have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.


The Queen's Birthday 2017 Honours List recognises 891 Australians across a wide range of professions and industries, from all states and territories.

The Honours List acknowledges a diverse range of contributions and service across all fields, including professional endeavours, community work, Australia's Defence Force and Emergency Services.

Among those on the list for 2017 are a Muslim Lebanese professor who has helped strengthen rural and remote medical education, an Australian Italian who assists Italian refugees, and an Indian scientist developing drugs for cancer treatment.
